Illegal fisher caught in Syr Darya River
The incident caused 495 million soums in damage to wildlife.
The State Environmental Control Inspectorate of the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change and state inspectors of the Syrdarya Regional Ecology Department conducted an emergency raid to prevent cases of fishing with prohibited hunting weapons.
During the raid, when inspectors inspected a Moskvich car leaving the Syrdarya River, they found 1 electric fishing rod, 1 rubber boat, 3 batteries, and a total of 19 fish in the trunk of the vehicle. (https://gov.uz/oz/eco/news/view/64001)
Among the fish caught were 2 white amur, 7 white carp, 9 carp, and 1 Turkestan barbel, which is listed in the Red Book of the Republic of Uzbekistan. It turned out that they were illegally caught from the Syrdarya River using electric fishing rods.
