The festival aims to promote sustainable lifestyles, waste sorting and recycling, responsible use of resources, as well as modern scientific and environmental solutions.

Throughout the festival, visitors will be able to attend open talks with experts, participate in waste recycling workshops, explore a fair of eco-friendly products and scientific innovations, and enjoy games with prizes and a live music progrcamme.


For adults and young people


The main festival area will host a range of activities focused on sustainable lifestyles and sustainable development. The programme includes:


  • “Sustainable Living Doesn’t Have to Be Expensive: Where to Start at Home?” — specialist in circular and sustainable living and founder of ORGANIC LIVING, Oydin Pulatova;
  • “Cancer Genomics” — biologist and ichthyologist Murodjon Rakhmonov;
  • “Why Should We Sort Waste?” — eco-activist and founder of Batareykalar.Uz, Feruzbek Sayfullayev;
  • “Let’s Learn Sign Language” — sign language specialist E’zoza Ahmedova;
  • a youth discussion on “Ecology or Economy?”;
  • a screening of the animated film “WALL•E” (in Uzbek).


The main area will also host the festival opening ceremony, a DJ programme and prize-winning games.


A separate environmental and science programme for children


The children’s area will offer educational and interactive activities for younger participants. The programme includes:


  • “Mathematics in Practice” — mathematics teacher Zulayho Habibullayeva;
  • a demonstration of scientific experiments;
  • a presentation of the “Fikrlab” book and “My Eco Bag” — teacher of the highest qualification category Diana Khasanova;
  • a robotics workshop.


Throughout the day — fair, swap and waste collection


Throughout the festival, visitors will have the opportunity to explore a fair of eco-friendly products and learn about local environmental initiatives and scientific innovations.


Special waste collection and reuse points will also operate at the festival, encouraging waste collection and reuse. The following items will be accepted:


  • batteries;
  • used vegetable oil;
  • paper;
  • cellophane;
  • aluminium.


At the SWAP area, visitors will be able to exchange books, flowers and various items. Festival guests will also have the opportunity to play chess.


The “Yashil uyim” festival will provide an open platform for promoting practical solutions that encourage people to make environmental responsibility part of everyday life, develop positive habits and protect the environment.
