The tree is located in front of the Auto Parts Market on the Small Ring Road in Tashkent. According to the resident, it has received virtually no water for nearly a year. In addition, the surrounding area is covered with concrete, which may prevent sufficient water and air from reaching the tree's root system.
The complainant also states that several appeals have previously been submitted to the relevant authorities regarding the protection of trees in this area. However, no practical measures have reportedly been taken to address the issue.
Referring to Articles 49, 61 and 62 of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the resident is asking the responsible authorities to take urgent measures to preserve the plane tree. Specifically, the requests include:
Removing the concrete covering from a 2.5 × 2.5-metre area around the tree;
Ensuring an adequate supply of water to its root system;
Relocating the ATM installed directly next to the tree to another location.
Mature trees play an important role in improving the urban environment, purifying the air and creating healthier living conditions for residents. Their protection is therefore not only a matter of environmental responsibility but also a duty of the relevant authorities.
Who will investigate the circumstances contributing to the decline of this mature plane tree in Uchtepa district, and when will practical measures be taken to save it?
The responsible authorities are urged to investigate the complaint, arrange for specialists to assess the tree's condition and take the necessary measures to preserve it.
