An exhibition of cruelty

A zoo in Bukhara that is turning into a “prison for animals”… In our region, environmental protection, the conservation of flora and fauna, and care for wildlife have been elevated to the level of state policy. Systematic reforms and major projects are being implemented in these areas. At a time when important measures are being taken across the country to promote humane attitudes towards nature and living beings, raise environmental awareness, and preserve biodiversity, the zoo in the city of Bukhara has effectively turned into an open display of cruelty and indifference. The deplorable condition of this “living museum” contradicts not only environmental and social standards, but also the principles of humanity, compassion, and conscience.
